I haven't been here for a while! I have been busy with other forms of art, art that is less structured than making jewelry or pottery. improving at these media scares me. It also takes a long term commitment. Fear is the enemy of creativity, which is why I just signed up for a art coaching program called "Creatively Fit," taught by Whitney Ferre. It is going to teach me how to,teach others to let go, and be creative. Something we all can use, right?!?
I am looking forward to sharing some of my Creatively Fit adventures with you! Nancy
I love color! I adore it, it makes my mind sing! I have a beloved set of Fiestaware, in all different colors, bought before I ever thought of making pottery. So imagine how excited I was to come across pottery made in Provence! This has inspired me! I want to learn to make this colorful pottery! I am not sure the market or it, but it makes me happy, and as long as I have my teaching, I can still follow my heart I pottery. What do you think? Beautiful?!?
Copper has some remarkable healing powers. We all need copper for our bodies, and many of us don't get enough of it in our diet, so wearing copper jewelry can help alleviate that. Since it is a good conductor, it can help move the energy in our bodies around. Additionally, it is believed to help those with arthritis and circulation problems.
I had a somewhat productive weekend, making some small bowls, and little dog bone buttons and leaf buttons, plus some samples for Memorial Bone ornaments. I am also working on a new wind chime design, made with a branch of cedar, from which I will hang my chimes. Hoping nothing warped! Will post photos later tonight or tomorrow,
